To support the ambitious course in Belgium and Luxembourg, Wanzl is looking for an entrepreunerial Sr Director Business Development.  This role is pivotal in driving the new era, turning premium product innovations and digital solutions into sustainable market share.

As Senior Director Business Development, you act as 'co-architect' of the business transformation in BeLux, supporting the General Manager. You combine traditional sales with high-level strategic business development to gain market share with new, digital, and automated solutions. You pioneer new growth areas while further expanding existing strategic partnerships.

  • You further design and implement a sustainable go-to-market strategy to successfully position the renewed Wanzl portfolio in the market.
  • You take responsibility for major, existing key accounts in retail and proactively expand the C-level relationship network within complex Decision Making Units.
  • You actively identify market opportunities for product innovations (such as digital retail and automation solutions) and lead the acquisition process from A to Z, including complex price negotiations.
  • You implement structured and data-driven sales management (CRM, forecasting, and account planning) to achieve commercial performance and strict P&L and margin targets.
  • You work closely with the local sales and operational teams and the international headquarters to guarantee an optimal customer journey and efficient collaboration.

Profiel

  • You hold a university degree and have 10 to 15 years of proven successful B2B sales and business development experience, preferably in retail or other relevant sector.
  • You are accustomed to operating in highly competitive markets and have experience managing complex key accounts.
  • You combine a strong commercial and entrepreneurial mindset with analytical skills and a P&L and margin focus, capable of translating data into concrete actions.
  • You have a proactive hands-on mentality and enjoy taking independent initiative to drive the business forward.
  • You communicate convincingly at various levels and are fluent in Dutch and French (required for the local market), as well as English (communications with HQ and other affiliates). Knowledge of German is a nice plus.
