APS NV Advanced Power Solutions is one of the leading suppliers of primary batteries in the European market, with a revenue of € 213 million in 2P2P. Their key products include alkaline, zinc carbon batteries as well as Ni-MH batteries and specialty batteries. The company has two manufacturing facilities, one located in Belgium (Tessenderlo) and the other in Poland (Gniezno) which have a combined production volume of more than 1,800 million units in 2020. With a pan-European network, they sell the products in over 50 countries across Europe. In Asse-Zellik, Advanced Power Solutions is responsible for marketing, sales and distribution.

Job description

Analytical relationship builder in order to secure customer loyalty in retail and OEM

  • You are responsible for existing and new international customers in the retail and OEM sector for the brand and private label business.
  • You identify relevant key decision makers with existing and new customers in order to continuously upgrade the customer base and work on long-term relationships. Together with the local Account Managers you function as a relation administrator and negotiator with purchasers in the FMCG sector. You are responsible for commercial appointments, price negotiations and are the client’s trusted in-between.
  • You develop sales with analysis of overall market evolution, competitor behaviour and specific business opportunities with added value.
  • You spend part of your time on business development in order to focus on new opportunities.
  • You cooperate and coordinate with product development and production according to recent market developments, competitive positions but especially the questions of the customer.
  • You are located in the European Headquarters in Asse-Zellik and travel from time to time (max 10%).
  • You report directly to the International Sales Manager Private Label.


  • You have a Master’s Degree and a proven track record in international key account management, preferably in an FMCG and international environment. Experience with private label is a strong asset.
  • You are customer-oriented and have excellent negotiation skills and the persuasiveness to coordinate international customer projects.
  • You combine strong, proactive sales skills with a very good sense of organisation, based on an autonomous, hands-on work approach and a clear intellectual honesty.
  • You have a multicultural and open personality, achieving results through excellent interpersonal skills and a natural commercial flair.
  • You are a hands-on team player who is able to manage stress and to deal with negotiations on a high level.
  • You have a thorough knowledge of English. Knowledge of other European languages are highly valued.
