Proactive, communicative and hands-on
Based in Waterloo, they are looking for a skilled Network Engineer.
As an experienced Network Engineer, you are the backbone of the organization's connectivity and security. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of the multi-site network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and robust security.
Your responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain a secure and highly scalable network infrastructure across all our environments
- Manage and optimize Palo Alto Firewalls (policy creation, threat prevention, VPN configuration, and support)
- Deploy and support Aruba switches and wireless access points, ensuring high availability and performance
- Administer the Aruba ClearPass solution for network access control (NAC) and Wi-Fi authentication
- Implement and maintain dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) to ensure efficient traffic flow and redundancy
- Actively monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex issues using advanced diagnostic tools and logs
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure support for business applications and services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation (configurations, network diagrams, and operational procedures)
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements for infrastructure evolution
- You are part of a dynamic team of 4 IT people and report to the Group Head of IT
Profile
- You have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with a minimum 3 years of experience in enterprise network engineering
- You possess strong technical expertise in Palo Alto Firewalls, Aruba switches and access points, the Aruba ClearPass solution, and BGP and OSPF routing protocols
- You have a solid understanding of of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and network security principles
- You are experienced with network monitoring and management tools (NMS)
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PCNSE, Aruba Certified Network Professional, CCNP) are a plus.
- Experience with Cloud infrastructure, preferably Microsoft Azure, is an asset
- Additionally, you have strong problem-solving skills and pay attention to detail. You work as part of a team and in an autonomous and proactive way
- You have excellent communication and documentation skills
- You communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing
